Child-Adolescent-Adult
As a dedicated therapist and proud owner of Unified Counseling Services, I am passionate about helping children and adults navigate life’s challenges so that they can reconnect with their true selves and get growing again. With over 20 years of experience in the field, I integrate evidence-based techniques with a warm, client-centered approach to foster growth, healing, and emotional resilience.
I specialize in therapy with children. I believe that play is a child’s natural language and their most powerful tool for processing emotions and building connections. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where children can express themselves, build resilience, and strengthen their relationships. I am a trained trauma therapist in EMDR, Playful EMDR, and Dissociation. I also hold certifications in mindfulness, yoga in schools, the Developmental Individual Difference Relationship-based Model (DIR), and the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) from UCLA, and I am a School Psychologist.
As an approved Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, I provide supervision for play therapists as well as those seeking licensure. I am also a workshop presenter, I cover topics such as mental health and wellness, mindfulness, trauma-sensitive schools and homes, evidence-based interventions, and clinical supervision. Additionally, I provide professional development for school districts on child mental health and wellness. Education is a core value for me, and I am proud to serve as a tenured professor of psychology at Roberts Wesleyan University.

Clinical Psychologist
Ashley Cooper, PsyD, MS., CAS
Areas of Expertise: Anxiety disorders, ADHD (executive functioning coaching), emotional regulation, school concerns, psychological assessment, school consultation, and parent support.
Child-Adolescent
Play is a child’s first language – the way they make sense of the world, express emotions, and connect with others. It is through this medium that I strive to help children and teens find their voice, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive.
With a PsyD in Clinical and School Psychology, I bring years of experience working in schools, clinical settings, and preschool environments. I understand how a child’s world—home, school, and community – shapes their experiences, and I always consider the full picture when providing support.
I specialize in play therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), blending creativity, warmth, and evidence-based techniques to help children navigate big emotions, improve executive functioning, and build emotional resilience. My goal is to create a space where children feel safe, heard, and empowered.
Beyond my clinical work, I have the privilege of teaching as a full-time faculty member at Roberts Wesleyan University, where I work with both undergraduate and graduate psychology students. Training the next generation of psychologists is something I am deeply passionate about, and I love bridging the gap between research, education, and real-world practice.
Every child has strengths, potential, and a story to tell – sometimes, they just need the right support to bring it all to life. I’m here to help them do just that!

Child-Adolescent-Adult
We all have desires—whether it’s for more confidence, healthier relationships, fewer arguments, or less stress. You might sometimes feel like things come easily for everyone else, but unfortunately, technology hasn’t quite figured out how to make our wishes come true with a genie in a lamp (though that would be amazing!). Achieving a fulfilling life takes effort, but the good news is you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re feeling lost, lonely, anxious, or depressed, don’t hesitate to reach out for support. I’m here to help and look forward to working with you to achieve the goals that matter most to you.
I’ve had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and young adults in a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental space. With advanced training in person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing, I’m equipped to help individuals navigate their unique challenges and achieve their goals. I previously worked as a school counselor, where I supported students’ academic, emotional, and social development. My role involved providing individual and group counseling, guiding students through personal challenges, and helping them set and achieve their academic and career goals. I collaborated closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that fostered growth and well-being.

I help clients navigate life’s stressors and work towards a healthier, happier life. By partnering with clients on their healing journey, I provide genuine, supportive guidance every step of the way. My main goal in counseling is to equip children, teens, and adults with the tools they need to cope with life’s challenges while building the confidence to know they can overcome them. Issues like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, academic/work pressures, anger, and relationship struggles can feel especially overwhelming when you’re young. I am deeply passionate about supporting young people and families as they manage these challenges and set themselves up for lasting success.
I specialize in a holistic approach that combines Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help challenge and transform negative thinking patterns, fostering healthier and more realistic perspectives. I believe that everyone has strengths to build upon, while also addressing areas for growth. I provide a safe, accepting, and compassionate space where you and your child can feel truly cared for. Together, we’ll lay the foundation for self-exploration and lasting positive change. Your family will receive support throughout your child’s journey, navigating life’s challenges and implementing effective strategies for success.
